Why do thin people do fat things?

Most people like finding a familiar franchise in an environment of frightening and foreign dining options. Why? they know what to expect there, so it's less scary.
Some people can go to a Buffet and eat everything and stay thin.
I don't really know where I'm going with this.
Some people have catchy titles pop into their brains but don't really have anything to say about them.
